PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
TTAC offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of TTAC to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.
Development 1
For swimmers who are beginning to perform the full strokes and can swim the length of the pool in freestyle and backstroke. This group swims 4 times per week for an hour. Ages usually range from 5-9 years old. As with all group practice, is not 100% required to attend each day but is highly encouraged. We understand most young kids are in a few activities and may miss a day or two out of 4. That is totally expected and as they grow older, they begin to dedicate fully and their practice attendance increases. These swimmers are also able to attend most meets including dual/tri/quad meets and certain open meets.
Development 2
For swimmers that have usually been in Development 1 for a year or so and have developed into being able to swim a 50 in all 4 strokes and complete a legal 100 IM (Individual Medley). We offer four, 1-hour practices each week. Ages usually range from 7-10 years old. These swimmers are able to attend all meets including all dual/tri/quad meets and all open meets. They can also attend, if they qualify, meets such as Championship Qualifier and the NiSL Championships, as well. These swimmers should be able to complete USA Swimming's IMReady events and may try the IMX events.
Junior Team
For swimmers who are entering the competitive stage and have progressed from the Developmental Groups. Swimmers in this group can swim at least a 100 yards of each of the strokes and 200 IM legally. These swimmers can attend any meet and most will have Championship Qualifier and NiSL Championship cut times. All these swimmers are expected to complete USA Swimming's IMReady events and many of these swimmers will be able to complete the IMX events. We offer four, 1.5 hour practices per week for these swimmers. Ages range from 9-13 years old.
Senior Team
For swimmers who are very experienced and can swim 200 yards of all the strokes, 400 IM and the distance events such as the 1000 and 1650 free. They are able to handle 5-6 practices per week and have qualified for the Championship Qualifier, District Qualifier or higher meets! Age range here will be for the most advanced 11-12 year old up to Seniors in high school.
